Smile Concepts Limited (‘we’) is a leading dental surgery in Sydenham, Christchurch, New Zealand. We have experienced dentists and a dental hygienist. We aim to provide an efficient and high quality dental service in the most professional manner possible. Please read our terms and conditions below.

All our cost estimates for any type of dental treatments are inclusive of GST (at the current rate of 15%) and valid for a period of 30 days from the date of being provided to you.

Cost estimates can vary due to unexpected or unforeseen dental conditions during the course of the treatment. Your dentist will be advise of changes to the dental treatment plan along with full costs before the proceeding to the next stage.

We accept payments for dental services provided to you are in the form of cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Farmers Finance Card, Apple Pay, Genoapay and Q card. We may have more options from time to time. Please inquire with your dentist or the receptionist at our dental surgery.

Depending on the nature of your dental treatment, we reserve the right to request for a full advance payment or a part advance payment, after which your dental treatment will commence. In the event that no advance is requested prior to the treatment, all our dental services will be paid for immediately following the appointment.

Any cancellations made within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment or failure to attend your scheduled appointment will incur a minimum ‘late cancellation fee’ of $75. Depending on the treatment and time commitment requested from your dentist or your dental hygienist, the ‘late cancellation fee’ can be higher, but not exceeding $300 for a single dental appointment.

Your rights as a health care consumer are covered by the Health and Disability Consumers’ Rights. Smile Concepts is in full support and compliance of these rights. If you have any concerns related to the scope of the treatment or costs, please contact us immediately for clarification.

If you think you will not be able to honour your financial commitments towards your treatment, please discuss with your dentist or dental hygienist prior to the commencement of your treatment. They will advise you accordingly.

Smile Concepts can provide you with a WINZ quote for your treatment, subject to eligibility and inclusive of any and all consultation fees. If WINZ declines your claim, the onus of full payment lies on you. Please advise the reception of our dental surgery accordingly on your arrival.

We reserve the right to apply an administration fee of $25 for any balance outstanding after 15 days of treatment. For balances outstanding for more than 30 days, we reserve the right to apply a $50 late payment fee, in addition to the administration fee of $25.

Any dental treatment undertaken with a phased payment plan must adhere to terms explicitly agreed between you and your dentist or dental hygienist at Smile Concepts. Any dilution in following the agreement by you will lead to normal account recovery procedures along with relevant administration fees and delayed payment fees, as applicable.

If you have not met your payment commitment for more than 45 days, we reserve the right to use the services of a debt collection agency or adopt any other legal mechanism to obtain our payments. You are advised that such actions from our end might adversely affect your credit rating in future.

Any costs incurred to recover outstanding payments will be fully invoiced to you.

You give us an irrevocable and non-exclusive right to collect, retain, share and use your information for the purpose of assessing your creditworthiness or for obtaining payments from you, against money owed to Smile Concepts. You also give your dentist or your dental hygienist an irrevocable and non-exclusive right to obtain information about you from other private or government agencies in relation to your dental treatment.

Smile Concepts reserves the right to stop your dental treatment or not deliver customised dental goods like dental crowns, bridges, dentures, mouth guards, veneers or teeth whitening trays, where payments are outstanding. Any dental treatment stopped by Smile Concepts will not affect our right to collect any outstanding payment from you.

Smile Concepts is bound by and will adhere to the Consumer Guarantees Act, 1993.

You are not entitled to any credit or refund in the event of any dental treatment getting failed due to your negligence or due to clinical risks explained to you in advance, to which you have given your complete consent.

In the event of any variation of terms of trade, Smile Concepts will update it on our website at www.smileconcepts.co.nz/terms-of-trade and also display the variations in the reception area. Proceeding with treatment amounts to agreeing with our varied terms of trade.
